		<description>Thanks Shahab, but I have precisely done that and both applications co-exist peacefully now. :) File extensions are always on in my explorer. But the point is, there should be some way to stop this problem :)</description>

		<description>Hmm.. Try this .. First enable showing file extension with this :
My Computer &gt; Tools &gt; Folder Options
Click on View tab
Uncheck the tickmark next to &lt;b&gt;Hide extensions of known file types&lt;/b&gt;
Click on Apply ..
Now find out what are the hijacked extensions ... Lets say its *.vdb .. 
Do this 
My Computer &gt; Tools &gt; Folder Options
Click on File Type tab
Scroll down to find *.vdb (whatever it is :P) . 
Now you can either change the associated program here by clicking on Change and finding Vedabase executable ..
Or if you feel adventurous, edit the reg entry by clicking on Advanced .. 
Under the Actions frame, Edit the &lt;b&gt;Open&lt;/b&gt; command and change the executable from OOo to Vedbase .. :P
You can change the icon here too .. :P
