My kids’ school makes them do all sorts of different things in homework. One such recent work was a small journal on LEAVES. Rest of the things were well done and in place as my kids and their mom, unlike me, are pretty good in drawing and craft, except the last thing that stumped us all for a while.
This particular page was reserved for an acrostic poem on leaves. The usual online search went on for a while without any decent result. Only option left was to write something new. I came up with this little poem which I share here with a hope that someday someone will stumble upon this for their kid’s homework. Their search won’t be as unsuccessful as mine. 🙂

My long-time buddy Sumit forwarded me a mail.
I always believed that one can’t trust US of A. This mail has confirmed my belief. Have patience and read through it. Although it isn’t as well written as one would like, it’s thought-provoking nonetheless!
Without more jabber here’s the mail.
Why the Dollar Bubble is about to Burst?
IRAN HAS REALLY DONE IT… more deadlier than the nuclear..
The Voice (issue 264 -) ran an article beginning, ‘ Iran has really gone and done it now. No, they haven’t sent their first nuclear sub in to the Persian Gulf . They are about to launch something much more deadly Continue reading “Petro-Euro Vs Petro-Dollar-Good Eye opener”

It is Diwali time, the festival season. The season of celebration, firecrackers (and noise + pollution) and sweets. I wish a happy diwali and a wonderful new year to all those who read this and also to all those who do not read this. 🙂
Some basic information for those who do not know the significance of Diwali. It is the day when Lord Ram returned to Ayodhya after killing Ravana on Dussera day.
Well, I have nothing more to say now. Some sweets are lying in front of me and I just can’t keep myself away from it any longer! 😀 So I shall “chatter” some other time, intermittently of course. 😉
My dad today got operated at Breach Candy Hospital for two problems – prostate and hernia by Dr. Pheroze Sonawal. My dad is 70 years old. Although the operations by themselves were not major ones, anaesthisia was somewhat tricky due to his health generally and a by-pass surgery that he had undergone 4 years ago. We were a worried lot at 12 noon.
But all’s well that ends well!
He is out from operation theater and is back in the normal room. He is pretty ok. I spoke to him, he responded well and was only sleepy due to the sedation that he received for operation. As of now he is not allowed to eat for a few hours. But oxygen mask will be removed and he will be given some water at 7, some other liquid at 8 and light food at 9. He will be discharged within a few days. 😀
I felt like shouting from the roof top, but internet has a far wider reach. 😉 Isn’t it?
It has been months since I blogged. The last post was about how Vanilla ice-cream puzzled General Motors and that way back 4th of April. In Ankur‘s words the ice-cream has melted since quite some time. 🙂 With my birth date falling on 13th April, I can say that I have become a year older (or is it wiser? 😉 ) since I blogged last time.
But work has kept me extremely busy. Secondly adsense revenue doesn’t motivate me enough to blog. And most important thing is that I am a lazy blogger. 😳 I will think about blogging only if I have nothing else to do, today being an exception. Today I am blogging to take a break.
These days I am so neck deep in work that I have been working on all Saturdays and Sundays of this month till 10 in the night. My usual office hours have become 8am to 10pm (or later) in place of 10am to 8pm. I am not complaining because I enjoy my work. But I have only one problem about such long working hours. I hardly get to play with my 2 yr old twin daughters, Mahi and Meha. During the whole of last week on most days I used to leave home before they wake up and reach after they have gone off to sleep. 🙁 Since they have now learned to talk, they used to ask about me quite a few times in the day. So on one day I left all pending work and left early just to be with them. On that day all 4 of us were happy – me, Mahi-Meha and my wife. My wife was happy because I was home early. And she was more happy because she got a break.
I don’t have any fan-following 😉 on my blog and I don’t have too much motivation to blog too frequently. Still I think I will try to blog a little more regularly now. Wish me luck! 🙂
Hellooo!! Is anyone there reading my blog? Please wish me luck so that I can blog regularly and write good posts. 😆
This is from my inbox. Quite interesting. 🙂
Never underestimate your Clients’ Complaint, no matter how funny it might seem! This is an interesting real story that happened between the customer of General Motors and its Customer-Care Executive. Please read on…..

Once there was a time when I didn’t have a single credit card. I never felt the need for any card. My dad still doesn’t have a single one. Everytime someone offers him a card, he says “I don’t want any credit!!” 🙂
I applied for my first HSBC credit card 4 years back and paid 2K as annual fees!! Times have changed and now I have 6 credit cards and all are free. 😀 The first HSBC card has also become free now, I have 1 more HSBC card, 1 SBI and 3 ICICI cards.
I had applied for ICICI card almost 6 months back and when nothing came, I thought my application is lost somewhere. But I was surprised to receive, not 1 but 3 cards after such a long time. First week of September was pretty hectic! 😀 Everyday there was some mailer from the ICICI – 3 cards, 3 pins, site password and some other miscellaneous mailers! They kept coming in from ICICI.
Some days back I received yet another marketing call, this time from Citi Bank, offerring me a lifetime free credit card. I asked whether its VISA or MASTER? Caller said its MASTER. Out of the 6 cards that I have 4 are VISA, 2 are AmEx. So I agreed for 1 more card. I was told that they only need a copy of my PAN card, LIC premium receipt and my autograph 😉 on their form.

BlogCamp has already started and fortunately its setup with all basic tech needs – WiFi, IRC chat and streaming audio. There are loads of people around with their gadgets. Laptops and DigiCams are on almost all desks. There are some live blog competitions going on. But there are far better (and professional) bloggers around and therefore I have no intention of participating in the competitions. 🙂 On the personal front, I am meeting a few new people and intend to meet a few online friends like Sathya, Kato, Ashwin, Qwertmaniac, etc. Already met Varun and Vinay here.

BlogCamp, blog unconference, is being held in Chennai on 9th and 10th September. Deep informed me about it and I confirmed my participation soon enough. 😀
We are leaving on 8th evening. We had an option of leaving on 9th early morning. But we were afraid of flight delays and consequently missing out on the initial part of it. 😉 So decided to leave on 8th and return on 10th by a late night flight. We have already booked the tickets and will book our accomodation soon.
Besides the unconference, I am also looking forward to meet a couple of friends in Chennai whom I have never met – Ashwin and Sathya! I have interacted online with both these many times over in YIM and/or forums (Digit and TechSpot). But this is the first opportunity to meet them in person. I have also suggested a TechSpot Chennai meet on one of these days so that we get to meet some more guys from Chennai while we are already there.
The thought of this camp and an opprtunity to listen to experienced bloggers excites me quite a bit. Hold on Chennai, I am on my way! 😀
